I know the Full Spectrum Laser Cutter has been down since about Monday, is there an ETA on when that will be back up? I’m itching to get some things cut.
Also curious, I know how to use the Full Spectrum pretty well, is there really a huge difference in skills needed to operate the Lasersauer? I haven’t looked at it much to be honest because new things scare me.
We used the FSL last night…so it must be working now.
I guess that’s what I get for trusting the Tool Status wiki and not actually driving all the way out there.
Funny, someone went to all the trouble to design a status system, then nobody can be bothered to update it.

Yes Brian, it seemed to me that there is a huge difference in operating the Lasersaur. The “user interface” is completely different in terms of how you operate it. IMO, it’s more finely controllable than the FSL, but it’s not as user-friendly until you know what you’re doing.
Just my opinion …
ChrisPaul … did you focus the FSL manually, or automatically? The z-axis-something-or-other was failed so if you were able to focus it automatically that’s a good sign.
ChrisYes, we focused it using the automatic focus. Seemed to work great.
I used it for about an hour today with no issues focusing or anything else really. I also updated the tool status since it seems perfectly fine.
