Propane and gas cylinder storage options

I recently found out we have authorization from the landlord to put a propane storage rack out back, with the consideration that it is purchased premade and looks nice. So I have been looking at a number of different models and suppliers which I will list at the bottom of this post. We will be discussing which to purchase at the blacksmithing committee meeting this coming Sunday evening at 7pm.

Please feel free to make suggestion and recommend other models here, it will be considered and discussed at the meeting if the suggestion has merit. WE CANNOT BUILD OUR OWN, thank you

I am looking at large storage as I believe @Team_Jewelry, @Team_Metal_Shop, and @Team_Fired_Arts will also all want to use a portion of the storage.

The one from Global looks very similar to the others and the price difference would probably pay for shipping.

I agree my only concern with that one is the raised floor will make getting the tall cylinders in and out more difficult.

My Favorite is probably the one from Cisco-eagle

What tall cylinders do you envision us storing? We don’t keep any flammable gas cylinders now. I don’t see us getting Oxy-Acet as these need to be on a cart. The bigger propane tanks weight hundreds of pounds, we don’t handling equipment for those. Unlike our high pressure cylinders that are picker and delivered we’d have to have tanks filled by us.

Chuck has expressed interest in getting Oxy-Acet, and I know a good many people around the space are interested in using it. I believe the storage of flammable gas cylinders is the primary issue with having oxy-acet and a dolly with a couple tanks should easily fit, or the tanks can simply be taken out and loaded on a cart. I will go ahead and post the smaller ones you suggested, on the other thread so we can get more opinions on the options

Go for it. 1`234567890

Other options are getting smaller storage and leaving getting upright storage up to metal shop, though one cage will likely look nicer and get it prepared and all set up at once. At least that has been my reasoning.
All opinions welcome!

12 tank $430

18 tank $535

Can’t store combustible gases indoors in containers larger than the hand held cylinders that propane and MAPP come in.
