When I was certified for MIG welding @rlisbona spent some time with me regarding my questions about powder coating. I reviewed the oven with him and I now have an item that I would like to powder coat. I have acquired the powder that I want to use on my own. The piece itself is about the size of a shoe box (it is a console bracket for a radio in an old car). In fact, I have two of them, an old one that I would like to test on and a second one that is going to be used in the car.
The questions are:
-
Is the gun and pancake compressor in the shop, ready to use?
-
Do I need to actually spray the item outside and then bring in and place it in the oven (might be tricky when windy or raining)?
-
If spraying has to be done outside, is there a preferable location with an outlet to plug in the compressor?
-
Has there been a class of late to offer tips on technique?
-
Anyone willing to assist?
Thanks
Bob
