Possible Earring Donation

I love wearing earrings. Unfortunately i have become sensitive to my cheep earrings. I was thinking of donating them to the Makerspace. Would some of the jewelry makers there find them useful in any way? I was thinking you could use the parts in the earrings, or at the least use them for inspiration.

Are4 these on posts or are they on wires? If they are on wires we
can easily help you learn to change out the wires for ones that will
not bother you,

Most likely you have a problem with nickle, surgical steels should not
have any in it, BUT, most wires are coming coming from China and
some companies are not as careful as they should be,

I like either American made surgical steel, or titanium or niobium or either
sterling or at least gold filled (not plated)

316 stainless still has quite a bit of nickel, 420 and 440 shouldn’t contain much.

Surgical should t have any but some Chinese companies
are not careful, , The ones making the wires may be ordering
the right wire and getting scammed instead,

“Surgical steel” is a colloquialism.

Interesting, I did not know that, In the jewelry trade it implies
a nickle free steel,

Of course I am an oddity junk wires don t bother me, but Sterling
silver or fine silver does

There is another option – you might donate them to a women’s shelter. If they were cheap to begin with, there’s probably not much to work with. Women generally love jewelry, and if they’re in a shelter, they probably had to abandon their stuff. Plus, nice-looking jewelry is a plus if you’re building an outfit for interviewing.
