Shameless plug for my first class teaching foundation bag making skills! We will learn about zippers and make a pouch. If you have sewing 101 prerequisite come learn and build your skills.
We will learn about zippers, structure in bags, and boxed corners. Pouches are perfect me made gifts.
Y’all come out!
Old-timer tip #1:
including the link makes easy for seekers to find

(I think that’s the one)
Old-timer tip #2:
including correct categories makes easier for seekers to find. In this case, I would add “sewing” category, so sewist seeking are more likely to find when filtering on category “sewing”, like this one from Amelia:
Old-timer tip #3:
Members can has bling. Go get your’n following the directions here!
Old-timer tip #4:
OK, not a tip, but THANK YOU FOR TEACHING!
There’s just not enough intro classes to be able to get in
I signed up but obviously didn’t read the time. 1:00pm on a week day is impossible since I’ll be at my office.
I would like to register for the class…however it says i am not approved for the babylock zest. I thought i was though
My dude. You emailed us less than 1 business day ago to request a class.
Yes, but I’ve been been checking for over a month. As soon as the classes go up, they fill up. Plus, I can’t go to anything on Thursday, Friday or Saturday either so… Just trying to get in somewhere. Sorry, I didn’t mean to bring the mood of this post down. Just feeling a little frustrated that there’s all these classes that I would like to attend and I can’t because I have not been able to do the 101 yet.
Don’t suffer in silence!
I know it happens in other committees, too. and in order to prevent frustrated users, that’s why we added the contact email to our 101 class listings- to try and get a waiting list together for people that can’t catch the class. I don’t want anyone missing out. I literally just had an invite-only class this Friday for people that had emailed sewing.
This Wednesday is our Sewing Sig Meeting. And at 6pm I will be doing an intro to the sewing room, as well as signing off experienced sewists on the babylock zests. If you’re a confident sewist, that’s probably where you fit in.
Yeah, id definitely take this on a weeknight or maybe a weekend, but I can’t justify taking PTO to take classes
I’ve seen a few others on weekdays or other committees and I’m always jealous/bummed. I totally get teaching when you have the time though, it’s hard to schedule!
DMS is starting to grow back the day shift and the late-night shift.
I’m trying to get teachers to share their curriculums, so no one class is stuck in one time slot.
Yeah, I keep meaning to get back into teaching, just never decided what and spent the time to come up for a sylibi. If there are some basic classes y’all have that need to get taught lmk. I don’t want to step on any toes for things like the vinyl cutter and such
I think we could use a backup leather 101 teacher.
I’m Sorry. I’m a daytime teacher. I’ll hunt for some friends who want to teach at night. What were you hoping to learn?
No worries! I thought for some reason it was the day after Thanksgiving and didn’t even check! We need both day and evening teachers
Can you help me with tech support to do the whatever to my profile link to something somewhere? Thanks sew much. My kids flew out the door and left this boomer with a tired thumb…
If you look at the list of things under “Topics”, you’ll see one with a green square that says “Member Access”. I think once you click the button, all you’ll need to do is log into Source with your username and password. Is your username the same as your Talk handle?
edit - now that I think, your username can’t be the same, because you can’t use capital letters in the username.
Looks like you got it. Good work!
Im sorry. New here. I’ll pitch in and do entry classes after TG break. Will be daytime. We will get there. Thanks for your interest.
oh that’s a good idea but ill be traveling that day. I’ll keep trying and before you know it we will be making fun stuff!
Missed this class but would definitely be interested in a future one. Really like the example photo.
