Though I have complained about it, we are actually doing rather well in the openness and transparency department.
Consider the others in the area:
TheLab.ms (Plano) Their web site is rarely updated. They have a wiki, but members are not encouraged to help maintain it. They do not have a forum at this time.
Rockwall Makerspace Their web site says very little. Their forum is for members only.
Meetup is their calendar system. It gives some insight as to their areas of interest, but not so much on culture.
Slack requires an account and a request to be added. Not transparent in my book and it is a huge pain to find information as it is essentially a single long thread.
