Open Source Sims for Room Thermal Dynamic Planning

I have this crazy idea of redoing the server room at the space and at a client’s Colo, for improving heat disapation. While the programmer in me says just use Unity or OpenGL, the hacker in me says but too many maths. No litterly, modern 3d game and sim engines is a field outside my scope of skills.

So instead of starting from scratch, I wonder of anyone have a good suggesting for open source thermal simulation software or anything else that can help simulate hot/cold aisle designs?

Preferely nothing more complicated that say AutoCAD or at least has a great documented python sdk.

For a start you could probably close the gaping holes to the open space above. If you stand in certain spots you can feel the convection currents going on in there. A difference of 20-30 degrees a couple feet apart.

Good idea. I’ll attempt to do so next time I’m at the space (unless someone beats me to it).

Do we have some extra ceiling tiles that can be cut to allow cable passage?

I saw a couple left after the room one upgrade. @dallasmagna or @Photomancer can let you know if there are any extras and where they may be stored.

Right on top of the first storage shelf when you walk into the workshop (from the common room)
