Hi! I took the Bandsaw Basics and Beyond class in June 2023 before we got the Lagunas and their combination locks. Do I need to take the new Bandsaw for Makers class to get access?
Yes. The Laguna’s are a different beast from the Jets. Wonderful machines that will allow for great work product, but different enough from the typical saw they warrant more training. There is also a blade changing endorsement available.
@ljohnston879 just completed the installation of locking bandsaw blade storage boxes that he and @Greenman999 built a few days back. These allow us to provide replacement blades for the band saws for easy access by the members who have the endorsement, while keeping the untrained out of trouble. The Laguna saws do require more tuning when blades are changed, but provide superior results and blade longevity.
