NumPy made a playlist to teach aspiring open source contributors the codebase, the core files, the governance and sphinx documentation. I have never seen an open source community go so far to open the door for outsiders. Usually, getting involved in a complicated large open source project involves going into a discord or slack and begging for guidance from more seasoned contributors.
