Does anyone know when the next Tormach 8L class will be or who to get in contact with?
The Tormach requires the Shark/Colchester certification as a pre-requisite. The Tools list lists the training requirements and links to the online portion of the Shark/Colchester class.
The first Talk post in Machine Shop Category lists some various training resources as well. If you’re not familiar with turning then watching the various machining videos in addition to the training will be helpful.
Completing the online course lets the volunteer instructor(s) know that there is interest building in the machine-side course. A machine side course is typically offered once a month, alternating between the Bridgeport one month and the Colchester/Shark the next month. These are usually right before the committee meeting. This month we are having a committee clean-up day so it may be a couple months before the Shark/Colchester class is available machine-side.
