New Equipment Donations for the Science Department

The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) just donated to the DMS Science Department three instruments; a MicroProbe Incubator, a Retriever Fraction Collector, and a TRIS Peristaltic Pump.

The ISCO Retriever II Fraction Collector can automatically rotate through 120 test tubes, designed for Column Liquid Chromatography and other applications involving measured collections in fractions. The three channel Tris Peristaltic Pump can deliver measured flows up to 500 ml per hour. These two units work together as an automated system or the pump can be used as a separate device.

The MicroProbe Incubator is brand new, never used. It has a heating well that can provide a controlled heated environment for samples from 30-110 degrees C (86-230 degrees F) in less than 10 minutes.

Richard Meyer was instrumental in getting the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) to donate this scientific equipment to the Dallas Makerspace’s Science Department. Brian Terry has accepted this donation.
