I have found this type of mess everyday this week when I come into 3D fab, Please stop leaving out the filament, clean up your discarded pieces and parts, and leave the machines closed and clean for the next user, (this included removing the filament if you are using the spaces filament. The Filament goes in the bottom drawers of the 2 leftmost cabinets.
Also any tools you use put them back whee you got them.
and I still see printers running unattended and no contact name or # on the tag above the printers. Except for one…i saw one. no penalties… no change. use the power if the video.
I have not seen any printers that are being left untended except for one member that is a habitual offender and Axey Mitch and I are aware of him, other than that its been pretty cool these last few weeks,
So once again will state that there is no problem with leaving a printer unattended in the room, go and do other maker like things, BUT do not leave the building.
Putting you name and number is a good idea, in case there in an issue qith your print and your not in the room. If there is an issue and there is no contact info your print will be stopped.
People that leave their personal filament out without names on it, we should start keeping their filament. Looks like Tom’s (which Tom?) filament. We could put more random signs to clean up after your self but those will be ignored. And as for the cameras, it’s really time consuming and tedious reviewing the security cameras I don’t think it’s worth using unless something expensive is stolen.
Assuming you meant keep permanently for 3D committee use/benefit, unless there was clear intent that they purposely abandoned or intended to donate, or there are clear, documented rules that personal items left unattended become MakerSpace/3D property, wouldn’t what you are suggesting essentially be stealing?
Heck…we don’t even keep (i.e. misappropriate) members abandoned/forgotten projects and materials that have been off-sited from project storage.
Agree that signs are pretty much worthless to those that won’t/don’t pay attention to them. Reviewing video, and then suspending privileges when appropriate and making it publicly known to act as a deterrent, is a necessary evil at this point.
Any personal filament left in the 3D fab room get placed on the lost and found shelf.
There is no need to start reviewing video and suspending peoples privileges, I don’t know why someone always wants to start a witch hunt when something like this is brought up, its certainly not “Being Excellent” I am sure Axey and Mitch feel the same way.
I posted this just so people who read it will make sure to clean up after themselves. This is not a Major issue just one that I thought as Vice Chair should be pointed out. No one needs to get banned or reprimanded at this point its just a reminder to keep things like you find them, or if you find things a mess clean up a little.
