I have an issue on my South Bend 9a lathe at home that I could use some experienced advice on.
I have a setup using a vacuum chuck to resurface flat metal laps. But I’m not getting as flat a cut across the surface as I’d like. A remote advisor suggested it might be the gibb screw adjustments. I think I have those all snug.
I realize this isn’t an in-Makerspace request, but is there someone more experienced than I am to come take a look and give me some advice?
I do similar tasks on the lathes at the makerspace, but, of course, don’t have the vacuum chuck.
