Good morning. I need to do whatever is necessary to be re-admitted use of the tablesaws and other fob enabled tools in the woodshop. I had access after Jimmie checked me out 2 years ago. I am out of town for long periods of time, and in November was unable to get access. I then had to be gone for almost 2 months, but now I am home. Can you help me? I promised to build an exterior double door for a friend’s barn and need to use the tablesaw, planer, and router. I have a lot of experience with such tools and it should not take too long, but I will do whatever is needed. I appreciate your help.

@bessex – Did you reopen your old account? Access should roll in when you get a new fob linked to your account. The woodshop machines are on a system that doesn’t refresh constantly, so it can be up to an hour after fob activation before that fob is recognized by the machine. And, we’ve had a couple of issues where the machine doesn’t refresh at all. If that’s the case, then we’ll need to (figuratively) smack the machine to get it reading again.
Good question. If you’re still using the same account you started with, any issues should be with the individual machines, and that’d be a woodshop issue.
If you’ve started a new account, then you’d have to send a ticket, through your account, asking to have your permissions transferred over to the new account. That’s a bit longer, since a volunteer has to manually do the transfer.
Just load your badge first. You can double check your permissions on the little RFID reader in the Common Room, on the table right next to Lost and Found. Then go check to see which machines work for you. And, I’d either load your badge in (via MakerManager) prior to coming in, or make sure you’ve got an hour to kill. It’s hard to say – it all depends on where in the cycle the various machines are.
As long as you are using the same account in the accounts.dallasmakerspace.org system you will want to update any of the existing info, e.g. address or contact info or credit card, and then be able to add a new membership (monthly or yearly) and pay. Then you will be able to go into MakerManager and associate a new or old key fob with your account.
If you create a NEW account then it’s exactly that, a new account and it will have no history associated with it.
If you need help with an account issue use the ‘Open Ticket’ link in the account system to ask for help sorting it out.
