Thou shalt not hotlink…

well then good thing one can just download the image directly

I also think we can do a lot better!

Liquid cooled, modular design, cleaner wiring, POE and Powerline support.

Plus the case should have be able to support both DIN Rail and VESA mounting.

Just curious - What’s the cost-per-Teraflop for this versus something like a desktop CPU or GPU? Is this more an exercise in “because we can” and to learn how to work with clusters, or is this thing actually usable for actual computing tasks?

A single node can on average do about 3.1G flops1 and theoretically do 5G flops.

Even then that means a 1000 node cluster would be required to break the Teraflop range.

No this is a bit of both; a tool to learn how to work with clusters and a means to run things on the community grid as edge computing.

If a three node system costs about $168 retail prices under the current design for about 9G flops (12 core, 3Gb ram, 1Gb network, 20 Gb storage) that’s already half the cost for a t2.micro in AWS over a year for more CPU and Ram. Put that in people’s homes along with say free wifi and video streaming then we would have a platform which can power smart cars, AR/VR, and AI.
