My storage bucket I paid for is gone 2026/06/17

Hi my storage bucket I paid for is gone alone with my stuff!!!

Yeah. Apparently the list they were using to check people was Wrong. Your bin is in Purgatory.

@Team_Logistics

I looked in Purgatory and did not see it. Nor did I see my 80 dollars worth of materials.

Hi Stacey;

Every bin that was removed was sealed and it was removed by myself, two additional members of logistics (who sealed the bins closed), and a board member.

Sometimes mistakes happen: make sure that the username that you’re using for your bin and the name on your box match, and make sure that we’ve got an updated email address for you in WHMCS, as we did email everyone whose bin we removed, and received a lot of bounce backs when I emailed personal email addresses.

I’ll help track it down when I’m back at the space, or, ask a Logistics Volunteer to help you out.

Thanks I did not receive an email and my email is valid. Thanks for your help I would very much like to have my materials returned as they are expensive.

Are they using Gmail accounts? I noticed that several businesses I trust had their emails sent to the junk folder. I found that odd, since I get other emails from them, but not from Gmail accounts they decided to start using. On top of that, I took a class at DMS, and was told by the instructor that his email to me bounced. He was using Gmail, so everyone else with Gmail got it, but for me, that mailer demon told him no, nuh-uh, no way!

Mine is too. Quite irritating. Nothing valuable but still, it’s obnoxious.

Strange. I saw your up front just the other day

I wouldn’t doubt that people are just moving existing boxes in order to get the spot they want.

Where is up front?

Why were member boxes being removed?

Who do I pay for my bin?

It was a regular purge where boxes of expired members were removed. Apparently the person doing the purge didn’t know how to look people up very well. Several current members had their boxes removed.

You can pay at the kiosk in the Common Room. Make a note of exactly when you paid, and attach that note to your bin.

It was me — I was the person checking names against our internal systems, and feel free to send the hate mail my way.

I do sincerely apologize for the headaches that this caused, but nothing was removed from your boxes and they are placed in purgatory.

As an addition, it seems that our internal system messed up a bit, where it was no longer showing members as active but their rfid fobs were still working and everything other than the membership activity log seemed fine. This seemes to have happened to multiple people and IT is looking into the tickets that were opened because of it.

It just so happened that Ian and I (plus others) pulled boxes during the ~3 day period where that occured. An unfortunate set of circumstances, but all those member boxes are still in purgatory, sealed, and ready to be picked up by those who were mistakenly afffected.

For those of us that don’t get in very often anymore, how do we know if we are one of the affected?

I’ve got a list of users whose email addresses bounce back. I haven’t had time today to get that sent out, but, I’ll send messages via talk this week.
