Can the MultiCAM CNC be used for engraving? 123456789
It can be used for engraving wood products after you have taken the basic MultiCAM class and tested out with one of the CNC supervisors. After that, you can also use the diamond drag bit to engrave materials softer than diamond.
It can be used to engrave plastics after you have taken the advanced MultiCAM class. I don’t recall if a test is required.

Actually, the diamond drag bit is part of the advanced training, since it requires setting up the machine differently than normal bits, and designs need to be done a bit differently. It’s actually easy to use, and works very well. Engravings are very clear and sharp, the resolution is excellent, but the actual lines are not especially deep - which is fine for a majority of engravings.
Its one of those cool tools that hasn’t really been discovered yet at the space.
