Moldmaking with Formlabs 3D Prints - White Paper

Formlabs recently published a white paper that outlines how 3D printed parts can be used for mold making for prototype of short-run production parts. Since MakerSpace has a Formlabs 3D printer, I thought this article might be of interest to some members.

You can download the white paper using this link:

Good read. Wonder when we will have a working Formlabs? :upside_down_face:

I think the machines resent being called silly names like “Cherry Dragon” or “Nimrod Cloud”.

Hello, may see some of you around as I’ll be doing a small project on the Haas soon.
Here is an SLA material supplier that got 1000 shots off of a 3D printed tool in one of there composites. Of course you need an injection moldin press. To mold with and they on used PP, which is very easy to mold.

I just today received my $284 SLA machine. Ran the rook benchies and they look amazing. Can use formlabs materials (haven’t tried them yet).
