The pin for adjusting the miter saw angle will not latch at either 0 degrees or 45 degrees, but it will latch at all points in between. Is there a special trick to latching it at 0 or 45 degrees?
That’s correct. Ask someone to show you how to use the saw,. I’ll be at the space on Saturday morning if you need help
Thank you!! I found a couple of very kind men in the woodshop to help me, but they did not know the trick either. I have been through training via the woodshop safety class, but I can’t recall this detail. I will try to catch you on Saturday!
The manual is here: https://cdn.makitatools.com/apps/cms/doc/prod/LS1/b54a9ea9-3bbb-491a-befd-b66075fc70e3_LS1219L_IM__885618A943_C1920.pdf
Adjusting the bevel is described on page 12.
Yep, that is how we could successfully set the blade to all other degrees. However, the latch lever would not stay in place at the 0 and 45 degree marks using those instructions. I would have tried to angle the bevel using the horizontal rotating base, but because we couldn’t get the blade back to zero (90 degrees perpendicular to the table), that was not possible. We tried using the compressor to clean out any sawdust that might be interfering with the latch lever, to no avail.
It appears someone fixed the issue. Thank you to whomever that was!! It is now locking in place at the 0 & 45 degree angles.
