That thing is pretty incredible
That’s awesome! Congrats to @themitch22! And to everyone else from makerspace we have some wonderful talent getting the attention it deserves.
Yeah I’m really surprised I got that much karma. It definitely wouldn’t have been possible without all the awesome people I know here at DMS. @PearceDunlap, @Heather_Williamee, @denzuko, @Thomas_Newcomb, @Haley_Moore, and others.
I still can’t get over how cool this picture is for DMS
and now we know your reddit username…
and pretty much every account I have with “themitch22”
The first place winner was a Nick Valentine model from Fallout 4 as well. He did an amazing job sculpting a life sized character http://imgur.com/a/KtZaK
Haha I like the cad banana for scale. Upvoted!
It also recently got featured on hackaday!
Really great work! Have been playing around with some ideas for a custom computer case for awhile but hadn’t thought of trying to 3D print it. Thanks for sharing!
I recommend laser cutting the flat parts to fit the components, the 3D printed parts are really study when screwed into acrylic. For mini-ITX systems, I wanted to minimize their size, most commercially available cases, are still way too big because they have to accommodate ATX power supplies and larger graphics cards and hard drives. I figure I could make my PC be no larger than a lunch box.
To make the smallest possible case, if you have a low power requirement video card, try using this for your power supply:
The SFX form factors are probably the smallest power supply for the power requirements.
But is it a Standard Banana or just some random banana?
