Microscope cleaning advice needed

I bought an old Nikon zoom stereo microscope at an auction. I would like to clean lenses and lube it.

I think you brush the lenses before wiping, what kind of brush? I have some antifog zeuss wipes, would that work.
What are these lubed with.

I couldnt see a model number on it but it is 0.8-4x zoom with 15x objective lenses. Works fine now but I like my tools to be in tip top shape

The Zeiss wipes should not damage the coating. Generally a very soft brush is used first to get rid of as much of the potential abrasive as posible. I have a photo lens brush I use.

I wouldn’t mess with lube unless you detect a problem. It’s new enough where it was probably built with full synthetic lube that will last a really long time.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
