Is there anyone who can help teach me how to work the bandsaw in the metal shop? Right now there are two in there, as I know we were working on restoring one of them. It’s been a while since I’ve used one, and don’t want to mess it up. For reference I need to cut some square tubing at 45 and 90 degree angles. Thanks!
How big is the square tubing? You’ll have much better cuts in terms of quality of cut and angle do it on the Cold Cut saw. You’re good for about 4" on a for angled cuts (may be 3.75" have to look it up again)
Not very big at all (1”). Is there someone who could show me how to properly use the cold cut saw? Is this the one that uses water?
Best thing about the Cold Cut Saw is that anybody that is trained and authorized to use it can train and each others. I’d guess a majority of Machine Shop users are trained.
Since this is your post, see if you can add @Team_Machine_Shop to the category. If there are any Cold Cut Trained folks that will be at DMS soon and are willing to train Matthew could you post here?
Thanks
I can not commit to anything until the 2nd of August. I’m on call until then. @BobKarnaugh has a lathe class on Saturday before the machine shop meeting. I’m sure if he showed up Saturday at least for the meeting we could get you trained afterwards.
I’ll be there tonight if you need help. Probably around 7pm
@Mrholthaus I’ll plan on coming up there tonight. Will you be hanging out in the machine shop area?
I might duck my head into the board meeting. I will be around just ask and someone should point me out.
