Is it possible to in some way embed a metal ring (like an ornament hanging loop) into a piece of glass during fusing? Nichrome or something?
Yes. Nichrome works pretty well. Glass fires cooler than pottery, so nichrome doesn’t have any melting issues. Silver and copper also work. You may have a bit of firescale, but that’d polish off fairly easily.
