Meeting on 16-Jun-2016

I’ve scheduled our 2nd meeting of the SIG on the 16th of June at 7pm. I put it in the interactive classroom so we have a bit better place to play with radios and projects, if anyone plans to bring one. Should be on the calendar soon.

Hope to see y’all at the eyeball QSO!

You may want to check the agenda for the next BoD meeting. The 6 month deadline is approaching were they want to roll radio funds back into the general fund.

I’m planning to attend! I have a new KX3 I need to hook up and exercise a bit. I also have a recently assembled Hardrock-50 amplifier I need to exercise a bit. And, I want to reinstall GNU Radio for a bit of prototyping in anticipation of the AMSAT software-defined radio project. (For those who aren’t familiar with the acronym, AMSAT is the Amateur Satellite Corporation of North America. We build an launch satellites, often in collaboration with Universities and federal government entities.)

Excellent, Jonathan!

Would you or Walter like to discuss SatNOGS rotators, for pointing antennas at satellites, which you two have built?

Sure! I’ll be glad to introduce the SatNOGS system. I’ll bring the rotator and antenna I built based on SatNOGS.

Excellent delegation skills Zack? The phrasing, formation, and timing were perfect! I give it a 10.

I will bring my unfinished Sat Nogs so folks can see the insides, and perhaps a few of my in progress kits.

I also have several pairs of this style antenna for different bands (6, 20, and 40 meters) that anyone who wants them may have.

I have an FT-817 that I’d like to get on the air this Field Day.

No problem Raymond, I’ll be bringing them to the meeting.

Great meeting tonight, everyone!

Anyone interested in doing Field Day from a tent in the DMS parking lot? (Assuming that this is permissible with the landlord, that is.)

(Edit: Also, remember to add your name to the Wiki page if you’d like to be an “official” member of the SIG. It confers no special benefits and may result in you being called upon to help out with the SIGs events, but it’s worth it!)

No wiki access. I emailed helpdesk@ but got no response.

I usually attend the DARC Field Day.

Shoot,
