Billy Cockrell and I picked up two pickup loads of plastic and hauled them to DMS. I don’t know the names of all of the folks who helped unload, but thank you all. And thanks to Mark Reynolds who make the deal. More to come.
And Thank You for doing this!
In light of the latest “controversy,” is this free for the taking or for official purposes only?
The machine shop committee needs to decide how we are going to handle the donation . Stand by and we’ll announce what we are going to do. I anticipate that there will be a pathway for member use . As a nonprofit there are rules regarding how we use donations . Thanks for the patience .
and MOAR!!!
And more to come, Slate tops if we want them (@Team_Science ??)
and the last of the plastic
We may have a tool and cutter grinder coming.
They also have a number of Vacuum pots @mreynolds
Uploading: image.jpeg…
about 10lb of Aqua Sol Orange water soluble Jewelry Wax (@Team_Jewelry )
And unloaded a bunch more today. Thanks to all who helped unload.
I realize that this is a LOT of material, far more than we can use, but accepting all of this has caused them to offer a lot of other stuff.
In terms of the slate tops, I don’t think we need them in Science at the moment. If I do get funding from the government grants or investors for my project, I could definitely use those for my lab/pilot plant facility I’m planning. Not sure if we’d be able to store those here that long (likely Q1 2025).
On another note, would you happen to know how do I get myself added the team_science tag or group?
I believe ask the science chair
Sam has recently passed me the responsibility of tidying up and maintaining the science area as a kind of lab manager (only fair since he’s moved to his own location and I’m using the area the most now). So it’d probably be good to get pings when people are looking to contact science. I’ll ask Kobin.
