Machine shop safety reminder

I would like to remind everyone since the cooler weather is coming, you need to make sure your long sleeves are properly pulled up or jackets removed before operating machinery.

In addition we do not allow open toed shoes.

See we even get @Kevin to abide by that one.

Also our Machine Shop rules do not allow wearing of gloves of any kind while operating the machinery. Yes even latex gloves as all it takes is the slightest bump to pull you into the machine.

Please keep in mind that we are looking out for your safety, we are not trying to be a Debbie Downer. We want you going home safe to your families & friends.

Not that I’m an expert but long hair is a real no-no, too. If lean over and your hair touches the spinning lathe for instance you will have a definite “bad hair day”! I’ve personally seen hair pulled from a lady’s head when she got it wrapped up in a piece she was working on. She was told not to use the lathe without her hair put up and she did it anyway. She had said, “Oh, I’ll be very careful.”

Removing Chuck Key springs is a banishment-triggering offense.

I once knew a Chuck Key.

He preferred to be called Charlie…
