Here is one link that supports the validity of using LT tires on trailers. Though it may open up questions about if the LT do as good for taller or higher CG loads like travel trailers, I think I’m good for a 5000 LB bow rider boat on trailer.

Good to know. I was thinking about building a camping/cargo trailer and using the same wheels/tires as my Jeep (LT255/75R17 currently).

What kind of trailer were you planning on building? Off road trailer?
Yeah, I’m still in the early planning stage but the idea is to have a mobile kitchen with water, batteries and some storage.

I have a few friends into the overlanding. I’ve thought about making one as well.

An underrated benefit is that your spare tire(s) can be used anywhere.

Good article on the tires
I’ll stick with the trailer rated tires on my car trailer.
