It would be helpful if you provided a few more details like dimensions, material type, and material size. There is a considerable difference between 10 feet of 1" mild steel tube and 50 feet of 18" stainless steel I beam.
this is a very good question. I’m building a fitness bench that is approximately 2‘ x 4‘. using rectangular steel tubes. The thickness of the metal that I’m considering is 3 mm thick steel. That will stand about 7 inches from the floor. So the legs are 7 inches long
Also, there are some smaller parts that probably need to be made on the plasma, cutter or laser cutter for steel of the thickness. And then bent into shape. I have the CAD drawings for it. They are an STP format.
Take the mig welding, plasma, and powdercoat classes.
You could buy a bench on maketplace for less than material cost to make one, but it would be a good beginner welding project. If you are working on a project its pretty easy to get advice on next steps. You should plan on 2-5 hours of practice welding before starting the bench.
Dear Atlas
I took the Mig welding class yesterday with William
I’m looking for someone to help me weld my fitness bench project and he recommended you
Please let me know if you’re interested in helping me. I’m willing to pay you for your time.
