What is forcing your model to be so deep? Typically, the highest point would be at or very near “zero” or the top surface of the material. It appears to me that something is keeping that from happening.
Just a guess, but whatever is causing the odd protrusion about where Del Rio is located and possibly the fact that the coastal bays are being represented as high points instead of low points may be driving your model to be too flat.
