Longworth Chuck

Someone (don’t know who) donated this longworth chuck. I tested it and it appears to be functional. It’s good for working on the bottom of bowls. I put it in the third draw of one of the Jet rolling cabinets. Instructions are in the box.

Thanks to the person that donated it!

If you make something with this, please take a picture with the chuck in action and send it my way. I will forward the images to the person who donated this and a lifetime collection of lathing equipment and wood.

Nice donation(s)!

For those that may want to use one at home, here’s what I used to make:

By hand: https://ravenview.com/how-to-make-a-longworth-chuck/

You’ll need to get hardware (rubber feet, bolts, washers). Overall it is a fairly easy make, for which I offer as prima facie evidence: I did it.
