There was a meeting this weekend where PR talked exclusively about this event and put more concrete plans in place.
Blacksmithing will in fact be set up. I talked to John already. So leave room for that. But I think the RC car thing will be great and people will love it.
I’ll be reaching out to committee chairs ASAP to talk to them about what their troops want to do on that day. If you’re a committee chair reading this, please feel free to DM me. If not, I’ll contact you soon. I’ve already talked to the few I saw on Saturday.
I’m just going to tag @KrissyHeishman in case she has anything to add right now.

Hi Mellissa,
That is the reason I revived this thread topic. I recently became a committee chair. During the Board Meeting last Wednesday the decision was made to rename the Aerospace Committee to the RC Hobbies Committee and I was nominated to be co-chair. Also, I spoke to Alex Rhodes last Saturday regarding us putting on a RC race demonstration on September 12. Thus I am trying to find out if it’s feasible to put a racetrack in the parking lot.
As long as there is room for blacksmithing it should be good.
I think your normal setup doesn’t leave enough room right? Can it be modified?

VECTOR can contribute some amusement machines to the event. Since the pillar room is now Creative Arts (and I don’t believe we’re doing the full DJ/lights/music thing as before… right?), I’d like to place them in the new small conference room since DPRG will be using the interactive classroom.
Unless… somewhere else would be more apropos?
I’m back from the sticks and now I’m somewhat back in the groove. What should I do? Should we meet? I would like to assist.
id like to help you…
I can do the poster for this or any media that you need.

I’ll post here the next time PR is having a meeting.
Or ask to join our slack group and Google hangout by emailing PR at dallasmakerspace.org
These are the best ways to get involved.
