My neighbor just had a live oak removed. Didn’t know until it was almost hauled away. I paid the crew $60 to haul a lot of it to my back side year in FM. Saved it from the dump. I’ve never turned bowls but it is on my learning list. I read that green live oak is good for turning.
Anybody want some. Help me pay for the hauling?
Is it worth enough to keep it all? For woodworking and/or firewood and/or smoking?
I need to show a plan or the wife will have a cow for loading more unfinished projects.
Text or email me at 214793-0272 or [email protected]
Thanks
Obviously firewood is an option, however depending how quickly you need to start dealing with things will determine what needs to happen. If it were me, I’d rough in some bowl blanks and let them dry in the shed until I got around to them. If any of it is big enough to slab, I’d get that going and slab it up for drying.
After I’ve got enough turning projects lined up, the rest would be firewood.
