Leather Tooling/Supplies Training

I saw on the leatherworking cabinets that training is needed before use. Is there anyone that can provide said training? Or is it more of a “Don’t touch unless you know what you’re doing” kind of thing?

I did minor leatherworking and worked for Tandy years ago so I know my way around, if that helps.

SIG meeting is a great place to meet members active in the committee

I think @engpin is the current leader…

I will be up tuesday evening and can get you signed off on the leather cabinet. I can show you around the resin cabinet if you still need that too.

I probably won’t get there tonight, will you be there tomorrow at some point? I’ll be free all day until 5.

unfortunately no, I work a regular 8-5 M-F. what about Friday evening?

No go I’m afraid. Early Saturday morning or like an hour an Sunday?

I’d like the same tour!

I may be able to be there tonight for a little while. Are you available? And @theredlich too?

What time? I’m very flexible!

I’m only available on weekends I’m afraid, mostly the early morning Saturdays.

Good news, I set up a class for this coming saturday morning at 9am for the leatherworking 101. I should be able to go over the resin cabinet real fast too.

Will there be more intro classes in the future? Im interested in this area but am out of town this weekend.

Yeah, can teach this about once a month, but I believe the leather sig leader is also working on getting other teachers so others should be available.

I can attend for about 40 minutes, but I can be there! Or if Sunday works I’ll be free all day then.

Hey, that post was from 12 days ago and I taught that class on the 11th. I’ll be up this Saturday but I’m teaching the pressure pot class for resin and lathe basics.
