Lasersaur Maintenance

I did a tedious task of adjusting the mirrors and cleaning them and the lens to get the lasersaur to cut better. I still prefer the lasersaur because of the simple interface and inkscape svg interaction. @lukeiamyourfather mentioned ordering parts to overhaul the lasersaur like a decent grate, mirrors, lens, and metal corners. The thunder laser is a great machine but I’d rather use the lasersaur because it’s usually more available.

Only thing I don’t like about the lasersaur is that it can’t raster

There’s some magic sauce to let it raster, but after over a year of membership, I still haven’t gotten around to learning it

I find it to be very fussy importing dxf files… I usually end up with nothing after import. I personally (and would imagine others, given the availability) find the overtly simple interface to correlate more to lack of control than ease of use.

Do we have cut time stats on the lasers? It would be interesting to see the usage comparison.
