The year seems to be zipping by. We hope everyone has accomplished their personal goals so far this year. If you like how things have been going, let us know, if there are improvements we can make send us a note. We have several Laser area improvements in various stages of our process and expect to release them over the next couple of months. Our team’s goal is to provide the best Laser experience possible for DMS members.

A few major initiatives undertaken by Team Laser:
- Recondition Big Thunder - Had caught on fire and was in pieces.
- Worked through Donner issues and replaced all worn parts
- Worked through Blitzen issues and replaced all parts
- Replaced beds on all Lasers
- Rebooted monthly Laser Service Day
- Created user training program for Laser Service Day
- Replaced control panel screens
- Upgraded firmware and serviced the Epilog Fusion
- Upgraded Lightburn on all workstations stations
- Created spare parts library to minimize Laser down time
- Held frequent training classes
- Formalized the machine-side user training program
- Added new activity classes
- Designed and added quick disconnect extraction connectors
- Created Laser Material Store in the Common Room
- We are working towards adding machine side control panel video displays
- We will be adding tracking to Lasers to ensure everyone pays for their time.
- Laser & graphics software in the New computer classroom ready for use
Every month we have an awesome group of users join us for Laser Service Day. We inspect and clean the Lasers, replace any parts found out of tolerance, then fine tune the optics so you have a great experience . Come join us and learn all about the Lasers. As a thank you, we throw in pastries in the morning and lunch later in the day. Keep your eye on the calendar for the next date.
Special shout-out to Kevin @kthompson395 for all his great effort to get the new computer classroom deployed. We have been holding our AI art classes in there, before running the jobs on the Lasers.
The recurring theme of our team is to enhance the member’s Laser experience and minimize Laser downtime.
