I am trying to create a backlit panel using transparent ABS substrate that is painted and lacquered with very little success. The equipment is an ‘Ostling LaseBox XS10’ which I have used on Chrome Plating previously. I am not sure if this equipment is transferable to using on plastic. - Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this something you’re trying to do at DMS, or elsewhere with your own equipment?
If you are trying to cut/etch the ABS at DMS, you should know that ABS is on our Do-not-cut list due to toxic fumes.
I am only trying to remove the paint layer so that I can create a backlit display through the material. I guess it is more of an engraving. I fully agree and accept that ABS is problematic based on me trials so far. It is for a personal project.
