Laser etch epoxy resin

Tldr: can you etch epoxy resin? Guessing it is a thermoset and no it makes goo.

I think based off what I can research this is a non starter but I’ll ask the experts. I can’t find the actual material that epoxy resin consists of. I did a deep pour river table and made a mistKe in post processing. Wanted to etch a design to cover it up.

Pro marine brand. Website just says proprietary in the msds.

The internet-at-large says “no”…

You might consider the Shapeoko XL or III or whatever it is we’ve got in Plastics. If you look at the pics from the class, you’ll see the glass engraving they were doing. They’re using a diamond bit, but you shouldn’t need that for epoxy/resin.

I think it’s the last pic or maybe last post…

I don’t believe resin is on the list of materials cleared to use. @nicksilva

sorry. In my mind I consider it like a plastic so I’m ok with it on the XXL.

to follow up - all epoxies can be cut. A perfect example is the epoxy pens that woodturners make. A router is a cutter. end of story.
