Amazing vid. Back in 2002 or so, I was up at the radiotelescope in Ft. Davis when the FedEx truck showed up to pick up their tapes (30 TB reel to reel - too much data for a pipe, and the same system they’d had since the 80s), and the radio astronomers invited us in for a tour, mostly because they looked like they hadn’t seen another human in a while. They showed me a similar map, but I’ve never seen it again until this video.
Also, those radiotelescopes are crazy - he said they calibrate it by measuring individual hydrogen atoms in their atomic clock, through two Faraday cages and 200 yards of distance.
