Kitchenaid Stand Mixer Repair

Anyone here ever have to fix the switch on your Kitchenaid stand mixer? I have a 20 year old one that the switch seems to be going out on it and as a novice small kitchen appliance repair person, figured it might be easier to ask if anyone had any pointers. Id rather not get a new one if possible as the same one today runs $600.

Pic of your mixer & switch & mixer model number would greatly help with tracking down the diagram and switch and weeding out those that may find it more involved than expected…

No specific advice about your model.

These are built like tanks and most parts are available - both OEM and aftermarket. Get the exact model number (e.g. K5SS) and use it and “parts” or “switch” in your favorite search engine. You’ll get many results to follow up. If it’s seen regular use over that 20 years, might be good to get a set of brushes and plan on cleaning and re-greasing the gear train.
