Thought I would ask before buying. I know others at DMS have had similar needs.
For the superconductor project we need to closely monitor 950 - 1000 C over long periods. We have a very fine window of 50 C we need to maintain with long ramps up/down. I’m looking to buy several 1000 C capable K-Type Thermocouples and a 4 channel analog amplifier that we can log to Arduino or RaspberryPi. I know there are 4 channel handheld loggers but they have pretty limited storage.
Anyone at DMS have experience with such a project?
I’d be using National Instruments hardware. Logging and controlling via a PC running LabVIEW. My workplace does this sort of thing a lot.
Although - Data Translation makes some USB data acquisition systems that might be a good choice for you.
( https://www.ebay.com/itm/Data-Acquisition-USB-Data-Translation/263863464782 ) - look up the specs. Some of these can do thermocouple measurements. They have a logger package, and a LabVIEW driver.
Depends on how many channels. PM me more details and I’ll take a look.
