Investment casting nickel-silver

Is investment casting nickel-silver permitted at DMS?
I have registered for Joseph Lahoud’s upcoming investment casting class.

This document from the wiki seems to say “no” – casting metal containing nickel isn’t best practice.

Plus, nickel silver usually contains zinc, which is normally a problem.

No. Nickel silver is not allowed. It’s an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc and contains no actual silver.

We cast only bronZe, silver, gold, or platinum. Outside of the casting class, which tyically provides bronze, people provide their own material. Not surprisingly, I don’t think we’ve ever had anyone cast platinum.
