Interesting tip for 3D printing with ABS

This may be old hat to many of you, but I suspect at least a few will find this trick useful and new.

In the latest “Nuts and Volts” magazine there was a tip for working with 3D printed abs parts that are comprised of multiple pieces. It involves in using a short piece of abs filament and loading it like a bit in a dremel (or dremel like device) and spinning the ‘bit’ against the part where it is to be glue to. This will friction heat and melt the ABS allowing you to ‘glue’ / weld your other part to the first. Haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds interesting and perhaps better then my current method of using super glue.
