Interest in an Introduction to Wheeled Robots Class?

This is an interest check to see if there are individuals interested in learning how to make an Arduino-controlled wheeled robot.

The course would be a “Hands On” course where you would assemble a robot and download a program to make the robot move forwards, backwards and turn.

There will be a brief discussion of the upcoming Roborama to be held at DMS on May 13, 2023.

In particular a discussion of how to program the robot to compete in the Quick Trip contest:

Quick Trip – Robots drive in a straight line to a location and return to their starting point.

The kit that will be built will probably be this one:

If you know of Jr. & Sr. High Students and adult guardians that may be interested, please pass this on to them.

I have been running a Robot Camp for most of a year for a teenage grandson and four friends. Progress of this two hour per week event has been less that I hoped but we are moving forward working both with Arduino and RPi Pico W. While we have been working with off-the-shelf parts, your choice of a kit is excellent for a class.

I have recently thought several times about offering a similar DMS class, but I have really not wanted to because my direction has been Arduino and Pico W. Thanks very much for picking up on this subject. I will help any way I can.
