Interest Check: Retro Gaming OR Mod Gaming

Who would like to play some older games on the big screen? (I.e. Sonic, Super Mario Bros.)

Who would like to play Modded games on the big screen? (I.e. Kaizo Mario)
For those who have not heard of Kaizo Mario, Check out Dram551’s Speed Run of Kaizo Level 1. (below, Hopefully.)

Either would be late night on possibly a Friday or Saturday night in the Lecture Hall.

That would be fun. I also have a X-box with the Namco Greatest Hits game disc. Can anyone say old school Gauntlet?

If we are going to have a lounge in the expansion, it would be fun to have video games in the lounge. I’m interested in retro and modded games.

I’m pretty damn good at SMW, but that rom hack stuff is ridiculous.
I don’t know how anyone can play that without save states. A bit too masochistic for me, but I would totally come to a retro game night!

I have an N64, Dreamcast and SNES mini I could bring.

@team_VCC and @team_vector should look into that.

The issue we always have is a noise factor, we always get asked to turn stuff down. If the Vector expansion is large enough to house a play area we are all for it. The pins and the Neo were frequented when in the lobby area and also on the floor. There was a coinops setup in Vector for a long time that nobody used. Would be good to gauge interest. I’m all about the games

It depends on how late it is haha

I’ve got a retroPi with 2 snes controllers. I’m probably tied up this weekend, but I can loan it out if someone wants. There are also 2 or 3 big screens in interactive.

Let’s get this rolling! IN like Flynn

Whats your PB for SMW? Mine is 15:05. :blankspace:

I have a SNES. (I have a SD2SNES on order.)

I’ll admit that compared to your average speed runner I’m probably not that great.

Speed runs are less interesting to me than 100%-ing a game, and I really enjoy some of the mid-game levels, so I’ve never timed myself.

I have tried to do 96 exit… I can get most of them. Now, doing a 98 exit… There you have a challenge. (technically 102%)

That special zone is brutal!

@william_petefish Since you started the thread, what is best for you, Fridays or Saturdays?

Pick a night and throw it on the calendar or I can do it if you prefer.

Got an original NES with a ton of classic games.

Any interest?
