A note from the folks that borrowe’d them would have been nice.

Here is a note for Luke S. The plates, are not in the best condition but are still functional.
However some folks clearly do not know how to use the press hence the bent plates and second broken winch.

The press plates have been returned to the press. They are still broken.

Word on the street is that @TBJK may have found some scrap steel to fab a new plate with…

The new higher quality winch has been installed. It has new cable as well.

So the 3/4” isn’t enough to cut to stack & weld. This ASTM A514 T1 is with just 1” material is enough to withstand the full 50 tons. It may just be best to buy it & cut it on the CNC Plasma.

For the money, time and ease, I think the 120 dollar difference would be worth it to just buy the swag 12x12 plates. Not to mention we get some press plates that I doubt we will outgrow!

Down fall is its 75% the strength & thicker plate than the 1” A514
