Hydraulic press support plates missing and winch repair

Mis-use/abuse/ cheaply built in the press.

Did you look at them wrong? And they broke?

It could be that easy. It is Chineseum after all.

Can you provide me with the measurements of the cut outs? I think we should roll our own. I can get some a572

Why would the automotive chairperson not get to know why his tools & equipment are unusable by members?

I didn’t say they were unusable; I said they were cracked, and I said they were in use. By members.

(No clue how long they’ve been cracked.)

What are you implying here? :smirk:

How about you let us know how they are in use? You know instead of being cagey…

That he is ugly and they broke because of his ugliness? :stuck_out_tongue:

I apologize. We should have let you know that we have the plates.

A note from the folks that borrowe’d them would have been nice.

Here is a note for Luke S. The plates, are not in the best condition but are still functional.
However some folks clearly do not know how to use the press hence the bent plates and second broken winch.

So the 3/4” isn’t enough to cut to stack & weld. This ASTM A514 T1 is with just 1” material is enough to withstand the full 50 tons. It may just be best to buy it & cut it on the CNC Plasma.

For the money, time and ease, I think the 120 dollar difference would be worth it to just buy the swag 12x12 plates. Not to mention we get some press plates that I doubt we will outgrow!

Down fall is its 75% the strength & thicker plate than the 1” A514

Whelp, I missed that detail that it was not the same stuff!
