How do I post pics on Discord?

I’ve used drag & drop for my posts, what are some less cumbersome?

Do you mean on this forum (Talk) which is Discourse? Asking because I’m thinking I’ve not seen posts from you on Discord.

If I’m right, and we’re taking about this forum, there’s an upload button in the compose window on the bottom right. Click/tap it to get the usual file upload interface.

This is from my android phone, but it looks about the same on any device.

OK, what the BB codes? [center]center[/center]
I’m treating this tread as an experiment /learning tool.

Some bb code (and/or html) might work; some does not.
Discourse offers a fairly robust new user guide (linked on Talk, too here on the “read first” thread).
In it is the reference for the markdown Discourse uses, too.
I hope this helps.

{center]Another test.{/center}.
Nope, another failure.

Apparently center doesn’t exist in ant form on Discourse?

I’m going to go out on a bit of a limb and say “no, center does not exist on Discourse”.
Part of my impetus is that “center” is largely an abandoned idea in modern web development, to my (very minimal) understanding, having been, for example, deprecated in HTML5.
More about that.
So, can it be done? I never say “never”, but, though I’m generally not terribly interested in this, and have done little-to-no research on the topic outside of that shown here, “not easily”. But some knowledgeable folks like to prove me wrong - maybe one will happen along here & show just how wrong I am :slight_smile:

@jast you are correct that the center TAG has been deprecated, but centering is still alive and well in html. The recommended way in html is to use a class. The alternative is to use a style attribute.

<p style="align-text:center;">centered text</p>

A couple of quick experiments here showed me that Discourse doesn’t seem to understand text centering by attribute.

And the Discourse way is to use the align attribute in a div:
Note the added blank line. It is necessary due to mixing html and BBcode

<div align="center">

</div>

OK, next question. How do I put thumbnails that reference to a larger version of the same picture?

This is typically handled automatically by Discourse. If the image is too large to display it scales it down for inline display and presents opportunity to open in display mode. The ceramics threads are a pretty good demo e.g.

This way the inline view fits whatever is being used to view (phone, tablet, or desktop displays, for example) and if the reader wants more, can acquire through a click or two.

I swear it’s one step forward and two step backward sometimes so which icon allows me to upload a image directly and bypass the drag and drop?

Discord question

Not that I know what I’m doing, but have you tried the up-arrow icon? That’s the one that I use to upload pics to Talk on my phone. I don’t think I see it for Discord on my phone, though.

… and then …

Thanks, maybe I can hang on to it this time in my bad memory.
