Hi! Are any classes needed to use the horizontal bandsaw in the metal shop? I need to cut a couple parts. I used a similar saw in my old shop.
Thanks for the help and I can always just use a grinder if not!

Take the hot process safety class on learn.dallasmakerspace.org if you haven’t already. Training on the bandsaw specifically doesn’t exist otherwise.
The horizontal bandsaw is finicky, and requires you to slow the feed rate by holding it up with your hand. The adjustment knob goes from 0-11 within a narrow band, and the hydraulic cylinder has some air in it, so it’ll slam down. And clean up, especially the tray, when you’re done.
