Join the Creative Team at Ghost Founder!

Ghost Founder is a tight-knit team of 5 makers and innovators who love working on groundbreaking projects in collaboration with high-profile clients right here in Dallas, TX. We thrive in a relaxed atmosphere where we challenge the status quo and push the boundaries of technology. Our current mission involves creating a drone using unconventional methods and alternative power sources. However, we can’t spill the beans just yet - the specifics will be shared once you sign the NDA.

Position Summary:
We are searching for an enthusiastic and skilled Software Engineer/Coder to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, your main focus will be on programming and customizing a flight controller for our unique drone project. We’re particularly interested in individuals with experience in designing and coding flight controllers, specifically with STM32 controllers, gyroscopes, and other sensors. In fact, you may know which sensor packages we need better than us! If you have a background in building drones from scratch, that’s a huge plus. While we prefer on-site work at our shop in Dallas, we’re open to considering remote options as long as you can effectively collaborate with our engineers through synchronous remote sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Program a flight controller using custom code to meet project requirements
  • Select appropriate flight controller hardware for our unique scenario
  • Design and code a flight controller based on STM32 controller, gyro, and other sensors
  • Collaborate closely with our hardware team to integrate software and hardware components
  • Troubleshoot and debug any software or firmware issues that arise
  • Maintain effective communication with the team and provide regular progress updates

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer/Coder, with successful drone or robotics-related projects under your belt
  • Proficiency in programming flight controllers, especially with custom code
  • Strong knowledge of STM32 controllers, gyroscopes, and sensor integration
  • Familiarity with drone hardware and components, having built a quadcopter or similar drone from scratch
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and take initiative
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Duration and Availability:
This is a part-time contract (1099) position with a duration of 3-6 months. While your focus will be on the current drone project, there is potential for future opportunities based on performance and future project requirements.

Application:
If this opportunity excites you and you have the required skills, we want to hear from you! Forget about a traditional resume - we’re more interested in seeing your work. Send us a message sharing your involvement in a drone project you’ve built or contributed to. Feel free to include photos, videos, or even your GitHub showcasing flight controller work you’ve done. We value your hands-on experience and creativity.
