Help me, m'Nerds, find a project I saw somewhere

I was scrolling… some feed … in the last couple of days and saw a project. I was on my phone, out walking my dogs, and thought I left the page up but alas it’s gone. Can’t find it. It was on Hackaday, or Hackster.io, or Make, or something like that.

What was it? It looked like a glowing blue potion vial like you’d get in a Zelda game. Only it looked like it was in an actual glass vial, with some glowy bits inside, and a cork in the top. And it was literally yesterday, or the day before.

Tried Teh Google and can’t seem to re-find it. It looked like something my “gamer kid” would like and there just might be enough time for me to pull it off before Christmas.

Do you think it was resin? If it was, @Lordrook did a class on something similar with vials to make it look like potion. There’s glow in the dark powder you can add to resin that would do what you’re describing.

Here you go- https://youtu.be/eB1U0t0lLxE

I turned this into a class about 2 years ago. I’ll link bottles and glow powder below for you in a few min. The resin you use is whatever you want, pressure cure it for no bubbles or don’t if you don’t mind some bubbles in there.

Bottles- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073VHNCQK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Glow powder- https://www.amazon.com/Luminous-Non-Toxic-Festivals-Concerts-Halloween/dp/B07BNHCK4Q/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=glow+powder&qid=1614879804&sr=8-5

A note on the glow powder, i picked this one because its a good value and has color pigments already mixed in. the other option is to use an alcohol ink or pigment and then add in a basic strontium aluminate glow powder so you can customize. Either or but my link is the cheaper option.

and just my 2 cents, this is a pretty good all around resin for various projects- https://www.amazon.com/EPOXY-RESIN-CRYSTAL-COATING-TABLETOPS/dp/B00V2GXD5A/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=east+coast+resin+16+oz&qid=1614880044&sr=8-4

Key to the project is don’t overfill the potion bottles or they might break with the expansion of the resin.

And don’t make the mistake that I did in the class. Leave the cork top off of it while the resin is curing. I learned the hard way that it can shatter the vials if there’s nowhere for the pressure of the off gassing to go. :grimacing:
